ECC 4-Man, LQ Nashville

How Much: $35/player or $140/team

Contacts: Tom Steele, LQ Nashville GM (615) 256-2560; Mark Demonbreun (Frozen Shade) (615) 512-4531, froznshade@lqstats.com
* No minimum # of teams. This tournament will not be cancelled.
* $4.00 warm-up games prior to the tournament.
Format: 10 minute games, 3 second down time, throughout prelims and playoffs. 3-team games, all teams guaranteed at least six games. Assuming 9 or more teams, top 9 teams make playoffs, and playoffs will be triplequest 1v6v7, 2v5v8, 3v4v9. Semifinal triplequest winners make finals. If time permits, semifinal 2nd place teams will play a consolation round (see below for prize details).
*If turnout is low (8 or fewer teams) an alternate format may be ran, such as two teams per game instead of three, with a round robin or swiss style schedule. More information will be forthcoming once we get to the deposit deadline.
Prizes: Individual trophies or plaques to each player on the top 3 teams. Unless turnout is huge and time constraints become an issue, a consolation round will probably be ran, and something will be awarded to the players on the 4th place team, even if it's a couple gift certificates each.
Side tournaments: Can be ran if competent volunteers are available to help me run these. I'll be busy playing and assisting our GM and crew with the main tournament (and stats).
Packs: We have done the retrofit, but I haven't played on them since then. We'll run through them Wedn. night of tournament week and make note of any that are exceptionally weak or strong. Two spares per set will be set aside during the tournament. Friday night from midnight until 2 AM you can play $4.00 practice games, if you're in town on Friday.
Miscellaneous: additional prizes will almost certainly be provided by Frozen Shade. Some ideas I have in mind: prize to the top placing team comprised of players all from the same center (based on regional teams this year, but if legitimate moves have taken place since then, I'll listen to those cases as needed). Also there could be a prize for the top placing team comprised of players all from ECC centers, since it's the ECC tournament. I have lots of LQ memorabilia (hats, shirts, etc) that I can donate for prizes. I look forward to contributing a few things as a unique and creative benefit to the players of our tournament. Besides NAC, apparel is no longer made, so this seems like a good use for my stockpile.
Contact me or our GM (information above) with any questions. Hope to see everyone on Nov. 5th! |
